Seventh-day Adventists believe in practical Christianity – so the church established ADRA.

ADRA stands for the Adventist Development and Relief Agency. It is the humanitarian charity run by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. It provides world-wide emergency relief in event of natural disasters, and well as developing long-term projects such as school building, medical clinics, wells and other sanitation projects. The local branch ADRA-UK supports all this work as well as UK projects such as an annual holiday camp for individuals with learning and physical disabilities.

Each year all of the Adventist churches worldwide dedicate 3 weeks in April to fundraising for ADRA. (As well as fundraising events run independently in each church during the year).
